Day 3!

Today was a lot of fun! I taught the first half of the math lesson on quarters and Brittany taught the second half. Then Brittany, Mrs. Fouts, and I split the class into three groups and we examined pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters with a magnifying glass. It went really well. The students had fun doing it. Then we took them to the bathroom and play practice. Then we cut out die cuts and site words for a game Brittany and I are making. Mrs. Berkheimer, the paraprofessional, read with a group and Mrs. Fouts separated the class into three groups so we could practice site words with them. The next activity was centers! The students like centers. We are still doing the same centers from Monday. Today we had two rotations. I worked at the writing center. The students wrote sentences about what animals they see at the zoo. When they do not know how to spell a word, we tell them to stretch the word out with their hands. Some students become frustrated when they cannot spell. I think the way that they spell it phonetically is really cute! Then it was finally time for Brittany and me to leave. Cannot wait to see what happens next...
