Today was a very busy, yet productive day!
Brittany and I team taught the math lesson. We took pictures of each other so we could have some for our porfolios. Mrs. Fouts wrote observation notes while we taught. The students seemed to understand what we taught.
One of the many things I learned today was how difficult it is to keep every student's interest. It is like the snowball effect when one student is talking or not paying attention and if you do not catch it right away, you have just lost them all. I also learned that positive reinforcement is effective. When you praise one student for doing what is asked or expected, then mostly everyone wants to get praised too!
I also read a book called The Great Big Especially Beautiful Easter Egg. By: James Stevenson. The students enjoyed it. I took them through a picture walk before I read the story, so they could make predictions about the story. Then, I read it to them to see if they were correct.
