Being flexible!
Brittany and I thought we were going to team teach the math lesson on counting forwards and backwards, but Mrs. Fouts informed us that she was going to be observed by the student teacher from another kindergarten class. We are going to teach the math lesson tomorrow.
We laminated our apples for our site word game. Then we took our reading groups. Mrs. Fouts informed me that I have the lower level of students. They have trouble with words that look alike. For example, that and this, and with and will. They will get better with more practice. I also gave each student a book. The students will be taking a picture walk through before reading it. They will make predictions. Then she rang the bell and we switched to centers.
I like being at the writing center. Today, we worked on writing upper and lower case letters and writing their names. Before we knew it, it was time to go to the library!
After library, Mrs. Fouts read a story. I will be reading one tomorrow and then do a writing activity with the class.
I sent them to lunch and left. I really did not want to leave today. I think kindergarten might be growing on me!

You said it, flexability is the name of the game! Glad to see that you are enjoying your time in kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteI like they way that you d your reading groups, it is soo important to take those steps before reading and I think a lot of the time even the very best teachers forget them.
